Project coordination is the planning and paperwork that has to be in place before a test hole or excavation begins. OE's team handles it as part of the Turnkey SUE service: site inspection and assessment, a project plan and timeline, locates, permits, homeowner notifications when required, and site hazard identification and mitigation planning.
Once work starts, OE coordinates with other service providers, monitors work execution and schedules, provides updates on job site progress, and debriefs on project completion. OE applies LEAN thinking to eliminate wait times and duplication of work, and to reduce costs to Customers.
Ontario locate and permit note: Requesting a locate through Ontario Dig Authority is free and required by law. Single-address requests are completed within 5 business days, and advanced requests within 10. The complete locate package must be kept at the excavation site and reviewed by every crew member before work begins, and a Design & Planning Request supplies records for planning only, not valid locate paperwork. Work in a municipal right-of-way also needs the municipality's permit; King Township, for example, asks for Road Occupancy Permit applications at least 10 business days before the start date. On SUE projects, the engineer responsible for the investigation sets its scope and certifies its results; OE coordinates and carries out the field work.
